Accelity Group LLC is a customer-focused, family of affiliated companies providing manufacturing solutions across a platform of several related businesses. Two fundamental principles have guided the growth of the founding partners’ companies – accelerating efficiencies and constant quality. Accelity Group focuses on investment in entrepreneurial, financially challenged and established smaller middle market companies located in the upper Midwest. We seek opportunities which will collaborate, partner with and/or enhance our existing platform companies.
The heritage of Accelity Group is the heritage of Made-in-the-Midwest manufacturing. The founding partners all have roots in manufacturing and have grown their businesses “hands-on” – from the ground up, not the top down. Accelity Group is a platform for Industrial Enterprise Integration, to move quality businesses into, or back into, today’s competitive manufacturing through advanced manufacturing know-how, optimal utilization of shared technology and capital, by empowering leadership and by investing the capital that they need to succeed. This people-based, hands-on approach is how we add sustainable and long-term value to our companies; not just short-term profitability. To us, the name does matter – the pride in a family business, passion for manufacturing and the know-how of the managers. We want to partner with management to provide strategic resources and operational expertise; and where possible, to generate cross-platform opportunities.
It’s About the People
Today’s customer-focused manufacturing relies heavily on technology to deliver quality, timely and affordable product. We know from our years of experience that the winning difference is the people who know the industry and the customers, or who have the talent, drive and entrepreneurship to achieve success. Accelity Group is different – we are not funded by institutional investors. We seek to unleash overlooked potential by combining our existing manufacturing systems and resources with under-deployed talent. Our flexible structures allow shared ownership so everyone’s incentives align toward long term growth. We can move quickly when we need to, have flexibility in a shared equity ownership structure and focus on building long-term value rather than emphasizing short-term profitability and exit.
Customers come out ahead when our Group of multiple manufacturing businesses collectively work together to create more value and opportunities than the individual businesses have on their own. Our family allows businesses, complimentary (not competitive) in nature to share resources, capacities, capabilities, fixed assets, suppliers, processes, practices and people to support common customers. With Industrial Enterprise Integration, each business has greater internal capacity when it comes to matters such as IT, supply chains, logistics, human resources, professional services and more. This results in better customer service and more finely optimized resources, allowing short and long term cost efficiencies. By keeping a flat organizational structure, customers still enjoy the speed, flexibility and responsiveness of a small, nimble enterprise and we maintain business identities and cultures that are proven and recognized.
Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), in particular, are trending toward supplier consolidation and geographic localization. OEMs want simplified business relationships and the confidence that their suppliers are able to manage the variety of business and financial risks that can cause turbulence to smaller businesses. Yet, innovation and customer responsiveness often comes from decentralized entrepreneurial leadership and ownership. Our flexible ownership structures and model for Industrial Enterprise Integration is particularly responsive to the needs of OEMs. We are better able to scale up or down to meet the needs of the OEM and our owners and managers stay solution minded and driven. Industrial Enterprise Integration fosters collaborative approaches, institutionalizes synergies amongst our member companies, facilitates sharing of information and the linkage of actual workflows – resulting in a more flexible cost structure and pricing method that provides a sustainable competitive advantage for OEMs.
Partners of Accelity Group LLC
The founding partners of the Accelity Group understand that a strong partnership with management is imperative to executing a successful investment. Financial investors want to buy the assets or stock of a business, but we want to establish a strong partnership with a company’s management team to ensure integration success. We work hard to align our goals directly with those of our management team partners and we will grow the business together. Our partners have decades of experience around manufacturing and a successful track-record of acquiring and growing companies at the lower end of the middle market. We bring creativity and flexibility to every investment to find the right fit, looking at a wide variety of companies and circumstances. We are not typical financial buyers and we understand value where the opportunities may not be apparent to others.
